General Terms and Conditions of Business
Status 1 January 2024

1. Basic Information
These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) govern the legal relationship between the guest/customer, hereinafter referred to as the guest, and Jungfraublick AG as the operator of the Hotel Jungfraublick in Wengen, hereinafter referred to as the Hotel.
The terms and conditions of the hotel valid at the time of conclusion of the contract apply exclusively. General terms and conditions of the guest shall only apply, if this has been expressly agreed in writing before the signing of the contract.
Should individual provisions of these GTC be ineffective or invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the contract and the remaining GTC provisions. In all other respects the statutory provisions shall apply.

2. Terms of cancellation
Cancellation of the reservation requires the written consent of the hotel. If this is not given, the agreed price must be paid, even if the guest does not make use of contractual services. In the event of a no-show, 100% of the booked services will be charged.
The date of receipt of the guest’s written cancellation by the hotel is decisive for the cancellation fee. This applies to both letters and e-mails. If the guest withdraws from the contract without an approved cancellation or if changes or cancellations of certain reserved services are made, the hotel shall charge the following cancellation fees:
In general: free of charge up to 14 days before the day of arrival, thereafter 100% of the arrangement price.

3. Early Departure
If the guest departs early, the hotel is entitled to charge 100% of the total booked services. 

4. Option Dates
Option dates (offers, order confirmations, etc.) are binding on both parties. The hotel may
dispose of the reserved premises/rooms after expiry of the option period.

5. Payment
The payment date depends on the rate booked. The following means of payment are accepted:
Cash payment in Swiss Francs
Debitcard
Postcard
Credit cards (VISA, Master Card, AMEX, V Pay)

6. Visitors tax and accommodation tax (summer and winter)
Visitors tax:
CHF 4.30 per night/adult (aged 16 and over)
CHF 1.80 per night/child (up to 16 years)
From 1 May 2025:
CHF 5.30 per night/adult (aged 16 and over)
CHF 2.20 per night/child (up to 16 years)

7. Stay / key / security / internet / smoking
The hotel room is reserved exclusively for the registered guest. Leaving the room to a third party or the use of the room by an additional person requires the approval of the hotel. By concluding a contract, the guest (and all booked persons) acquires the right to the normal use of the rented rooms and the guest facilities of the hotel. The guest shall exercise his rights in accordance with any hotel and/or guest guidelines.
The room key provided by the hotel remains the property of the hotel and allows 24-hour access to the hotel.

Internet access is free of charge for all guests. The guest is liable for misuse and illegal behaviour when using the Internet. Smoking is only permitted throughout the hotel in designated areas/rooms.

8. Prices and programme are specifically subject to change
The booking by the guest and the booking confirmation by the hotel are subject to the condition that the hotel is open during the booked period.

9. Subsequent consumption
The hotel reserves the right to charge the guest for hotel services consumed at a later date. For this purpose, the hotel will use the method of payment specified by the guest.

10. Damages
The guest is liable to the hotel for any damage or loss caused by him or his fellow travellers, without the hotel having to prove fault on its part.

11. Keeping of animals
Animals may only be brought into the hotel with the prior consent of the hotel and for a special fee. 
The guest who brings an animal into the hotel is obliged to keep or supervise this animal properly during its stay or, at its own expense, to have it kept or supervised by a suitable third party.
Animals are not permitted in the hotel’s restaurant and event rooms.

12. Lost items
Lost items will be forwarded, if the ownership situation is clear and the residential/business address is known.
The guest shall bear the costs and risk of forwarding the lost property. 
After a three-month storage period, the lost property will be disposed of.

13. Legal venue
The place of jurisdiction for any disputes arising from this contract is Bern, unless another legally mandatory place of jurisdiction exists.
Swiss law shall apply exclusively to all contractual, reservation and any additional agreements and general terms and conditions.
The place of fulfilment and payment is the registered office of the hotel.
